Inspired to Take Action

Inspired by Julia Cameron's quote ("I have learned, as a rule of thumb, never to ask whether you can do something. Say, instead, that you are doing it. Then fasten your seat belt. The most remarkable things follow."), I decided to push through and act on some of the things I've always wanted to do. First on my list is learning how to speak Spanish. I enrolled myself in the first available class in Spanish 101 for the Fall semester. I know it's going to take a lot of my time away from my studies but I really want to do this. I may not have the time to do it after graduation so I guess, the best time to do this is now.

Besides the Spanish class, I also registered for the Real Estate seminar this coming November. Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki are two of the keynote speakers, and for them, I'm willing to shell out my savings hehe. I'm not really sure how I'm going to start in the real estate business. I have no mentor. I have not taken any courses regarding real estate. I know real estate as much as I know cars (which is nada). What better way to start than to hear it from the experts right? My only regret is I have no friends that are as interested as I am and who will be willing to come with me.

Next up, I think I'll work on getting myself enrolled in any computer class. Maybe next year when time and money permits.

Hola, senorita! For sure you'll enjoy Spanish. Level 2 na ko ngayon sa Instituto Cervantes. Hope we can correspond using the language, soon! =)

Buenos días. No he visto Neil Gaiman todavía.

I'm happy you are learning Spanish. I also took that in College. Don't feel bad about the money. The rewards will come later on, and you won't regret it by then. Try learning 2 more languages after Spanish. ;)

Real estate? Naku, mahina din ako dyan. Turuan mo ako pag tapos ka na. :)

Lau: Yes. Two more languages. You will be surprised to know that French and Japanese are excellent choices. I also plan to learn Nippongo when I have a longer free time (only God knows WHEN that will be with my killer schedule).
If you want to know what other languages to learn, try reading this: TEN MOST WIDELY SPOKEN LANGUAGES IN THE WORLD

Newsiecat: That's Emer, not Elmer. It's okay. Lots of new friends make that mistake too. Oh, so you're from the oldest university? I live a stone's throw away from that place. But I took my Spanish in UP where I also spent most of my college years. There was a time it was mandatory. I have 12 units of Spanish. As for French, German, and Fookien, I'm a work in progress. But I made a promise to myself that I would at least be able to write 1 poem in each language by the end of 2006. Let's hope I make that promise.

Learning new languages is healthy. It's learning how to play a new musical instrument. New nerve cells are born in our brain when we try to learn a new skill. That alone, I think, is already a great motivation, ladies. :)

Hello! Thanks for commenting on my blog. Neil Gaiman's an amazing author, wish you could be at his book signing, it's quite exciting become some people dress up as his Sandman characters. :)
I like the quote you mentioned! Very inspirational. Now I'm itching to Do Something lol.

Newsiecat, matagal pa ang mga tula ko. Hamo, update kita. Yep, Neruda is great. So with Gabriel Marquez who also writes stories and poems in Spanish.

Lau, my NEIL GAIMAN REPORT is ready. Click mo lang yung link. Feel free to use anything you want from it. ;)
