loryces online

Hiyaaaa!! Woohoo! I'm online (yet again)!!! Didn't think it was coming but good thing I overheard my Tita Tessie mentioning that her daughters were probably on the computer. Hah! Bingo! And now I'm stretching (uhm make that strengthening) my fingers over the keyboard. :)

Checked our group earlier and boy was I in for a surprise. Two of my friends told me some of the things that went on in there for the last week or so. I believed them but nothing in the world could prepare me for what I witnessed. Grabeeh. Mapapauwi ako ng di oras neto. Good thing one of the moderators is cool-headed. ;p If I were her, I'd kick that sonofab*tch right in his uhm tummy. He'd be so winded he'll never post again. Yeah yeah wishful thinking but right now I certainly wish I could do that.

Went to Disneyland in Buena Park, California. Admission was free. No pay whatsoever. Two of my mom's classmates are architects of Disney World. That's why it's free. Cool eh?

I want to be like that. Not architects silly. But a great achiever. I know I'm an achiever in my own right. But I still want more. Maybe to prove myself. Or to prove others wrong. Whatever the reason I have, the thing is I want more. And it's not wrong to want more, right? To crave for change, to try anything -- I don't think it's wrong. Maybe it's not a matter of right or wrong but being able to live with who you are at the moment.

Anyway might be a while before I get online again. It's hard for me to keep on living here without someone to talk to. Heck even a gadget would do just fine.

3rd BUFFET today. B - U - R - P.

Grabe-e-e-h I think it took my stomach 5 hours to digest the food I ate awhile ago. (normally it would take at least 2 hours) I still feel full. ;p

But like I said yesterday, ABSOLUTELY no regrets, although my butt has to comment on that. I think our lunch buffet earlier was the best I've ever experienced, although the first two buffets I had were delicious too. It's just that in Palms Hotel, there were better selection of foods you could choose from. There's Asian, Mediterranean, and Italian foods. Of course, there's the salad and dessert bar. S-L-U-R-P! I'm getting hungry again. :D

I think I went back four times. Piled my plate high enough for other people to take notice of me. Haha.

I divided my visits to the buffet corner by the different cuisines. My first stop is the Asian section. Mmm-mmm. I didn't get the Sweet and Sour Pork even though that's one of my fave. I thought, Heck I could get that in IL! Haha! So I checked out some of the foods I never encountered before. For example, Beef and Broccoli, Chicken Cabobs, a fish dish of which I couldn't remember the name (but my stomach surely does!), string beans, mushrooms, and young corns.

Next is the Mediterranean cuisine. Got a dish or two here. I think I tried a Buttered Cod and something like a cross between an empanada and butchi. My taste buds didn't like it though. I tried some samples of sauces too namely guacamole, humus, and baba ganeush (sp?). Didn't like any of them. Yuck.

Now this is the best part of the buffet: the DESSERT bar. Just typing it makes me think of the Strawberry shortcake. And the good part here is you make your own shortcake. Mmmmmm.

I also tried the fruit cobbler (tamis!), kugler, baclava (sp?), fruit tart, chocolate cake with bits of chocolate pieces and almonds, chocolate eclair, and macaroons. I tried going back for more but my conscience won't let me. Ah the bane of my butt. My only love, my only enemy. My preciousssss sweets.

Hah! Look at my new design. Nyahaha! Cool eh. I like this one better, don't you agree? :D

Just convinced my mom that I should go back to Jockey Club while she went to some place I'm not really interested to know. It will be better for us (esp me) to just go surfing. My hands are itching.

I really like this new design. More space for things I would want to put up in my site (although the main page is nowhere near complete).

I thought we'll be spending our night here in Jockey Club. Much to my disappointment, it didn't turn out that way. Sayang I'm really enjoying this free Internet. Where in Manila can you get this huh? Well don't count those pathetic Pinoymail booths in UP Manila. I spent an hour or so waiting for that stupid modem to connect me. I found another Internet booth in our hotel, at the Boardwalk, btw. It costs around 30c per minute, which is P15 more or less. That's per MINUTE. Heelllloooo!!! But then if you're ME, I'd grabbed it. Hehe.

This'll probably my last post. I dunno if ever I'll be back here in Jockey Club. I certainly hope so. Gad I'm starting to miss my friends again. After two days of pure internet bliss, it'll be taken forcibly from me again. Ugh! Life really sucks.

Just came from another round of sight-seeing. Grabeeeh! Ang ganda! I'll never tire of Las Vegas. Right now, even though I'm still here I'm planning on returning again. I'm sure I will. I really love it here. I love the dazzling lights, (take note, even Mcdo here is decorated with those lights - lugi sila kung papahuli sila di ba?) the different and unique attractions each of the casinos offer, and even the traffic! I remember our very own Pinas, specifically Manila!

Besides that I had my SECOND buffet in a week. Gad! If I get fatter than this, I don't think I'll regret it. I love food! Who doesn't? Problem is I have sweet teeth, not tooth take note. I think I went back to the buffet table 3 times. And my first buffet here, I think I went back 5 times or so. See, I told you. Either the food is really that tempting, that good, OR I don't have control. I vote for 2. Well time to shake that butt! Come Oct 22, I'll start power-walking! Thanks to an idea by a friend .Hopefully I'll be able to stick to it. Wish me luck.

Ay forgot to tell you, I went gambling...twice. Haha. Well I can't help it. I like it. :-) I love winning. Unfortunately, I didn't. Hehe. But that's fine with me. Which brings me to what Neil Gaiman has to say about casinos. According to him, people don't go to casinos to win, but to LOSE. That's their secret. I was amused by that statement. Nevertheless, I think it probably is true. We like to win, yes, in lottery, raffles, and all that. But it makes me wonder why do I have the itch to play again even if I won already? Maybe because to win again but then when I lost those $2, there's a sense of, I dunno, satisfaction maybe? Oh well, basta I like gambling. Another day or two here, I'll probably spend all my allowance. :-)

I absolutely want to tell you all about the sights I saw. Unfortunately, I really have to have time in order to write a good blog about it. Baka it won't give justice to what I saw earlier if I write whatever comes to mind. It should be organized and yet not boring. Breath-taking dapat. Hay basta! Ganda dito.

I gained 10 pounds overnight. Really.

Well maybe it's just an exaggerated statement (Hey I certainly hope so!) but then after yesterday's events, I would not be surprised if that comes out true.

I have sooo many news today I don't know where to start. Well I'd better start typing since this free internet won't be for long.

Okay first stop is the Belz Outlet Factory. I really don't know what to expect here 'cept low prices and lots of brand names AND that I'll be leaving the establishment empty-handed (READ: I'm with my mom --> 'nuff said). Well I was wrong with one thing. Uhm make that two. For one, the prices were really not cheap although once you're earning dollars, it's reasonable I guess. You see, I keep on comparing the prices to the Philippine peso. Hehe. Second, I didn't leave the outlet factory empty-handed! Much to the chagrine of my mom. Haha.

To my fellow Tolkien fans, read this: I bought 2 audio CDs (soundtracks) concerning Lord of the Rings. Not the movie version but two different artists. One was entitled "Symphony No. 1" by Johan de Meij. It was performed by the London Symphony Orchestra and conducted by David Warble. It was a special edition and it comes with a cool Gandalf bookmark. Nice huh? Here are the tracks:

- Gandalf (the Wizard)
- Lothlorien (the Elvenwood)
- Gollum (Smeagol)
- Journey in the Dark
- Hobbits

All in all, the CD has 59 minutes worth of music. Cost is $17.99.

The other CD was by Westwind Ensemble (well, I think this is the artist). Email me if I'm mistaken. This is more of a Gothic type of CD unlike the first one which has a more classical feel. Still, I'm unable to listen fully to these 2 CDs since sight-seeing is definitely my first priority. So many sights to see! :-) Anyway here's a complete list of the tracks:

- Sing hey
- Gandalf
- Fog in the Barrod-downs
- I sang of leaves of gold
- Ever on and on goes the road
- The Riders of Theoden
- Annon Edhellen
- Party at Bag End
- One Ring
- Bilbo's Song

Cost of CD is $6.99. There are only 1 copy of each CD so I bought them then and there. Alang nagawa ang mommy ko kunde sermunan ako. Haha. Once I get my own PC/laptop, I'll burn a CD for my friends for our group.

I love Las Vegas! Hehe!

After shopping, we just cruised around LV and boy it really was fantastic! Lots to see. A feast for the eyes and ears, actually. I would really love to tell you all about the buildings I saw but my mom is waiting for me upstairs. Ack! I don't wanna go. Free internet! Anyway I'm not really good into describing things. Or maybe right now I'm rushing that's why I'm having trouble finding the words to describe the different establishments here in Vegas.

I'll probably just scan a postcard then post it here in my blog. Hehe. Tamad. Besides it's more fun making kwento with your friends personally. Or through the phone.

Ok time to go. Buh-bye.

Nyak!!! Just found out we'll be transferring to a nearby hotel later, which means no more free internet for me!!! Waaaah! Just when I was getting the hang of this...

Suggested to my mom that I could just walk over to JC since it's near our hotel. Hehe.

I never thought I'll be back in Jockey Club. It was a good thing I asked my mom yesterday if we're going to JC again. I was happy, uhm, make that ecstatic, when I found out that yes, we're definitely going back.

Gad, I didn't know how I did, you know survive and all, those past two weeks without Internet, even PC, or a cellphone. I've been hooked to those gadgets so much that I think I underwent withdrawal symptoms when I moved to the US. I got fatter, not only of the foods, but because I got nothing to do so the tendency is to eat and sleep. Besides that I've been reading books to pass the time. But then, I'm sitting when I'm reading so that means no calories burning. Bummer! I just hope I'll be able to lose those pounds again.

I went to a casino yesterday. Asked my mom for $15 (of course at first it was only $5 so imagine my expression, good thing though a friend convinced her to give me more...hehehe!) Of course I don't know anything about poker and what game was that, with those colored chips and those people who deal them or something? Anyway, just went to a slot machine (Yeah, yeah it's pathetic, I know.) and guess what? I lost all of the money. It's not much really but still, I lost.

But then, I was having such a fab time yesterday, not to mention, I was feeling lucky. So what I did was I got another $20 and started walking around the casino until I found some slots machine that I would like to try. Eventually, I won some credits. I didn't want to waste 'em all so I just pushed the button Cash/Credit. Actually I didn't know what that button was. I was just curious I guess, that's why I pushed it. Out came 20 coins or so. Looking behind me, I found a Change booth. I went over and asked the clerk if I could change the coins to money. Much to surprise, yun na pala yun! When you win enough credits, withdraw 'em and then change 'em to money! So to end a long story, I got $47, won back what I lost plus an additional fee. Not bad eh?

Eventually though I thought why not gamble a lil more? So I took out just the $2 (para alang butal) and used 'em. Of course, I lost. A lot of people, including my mom, said, "Once you win, stop gambling." Good advice. Good thing it was just $2. But I wonder, what Neil Gaiman said about casinos, it's probably true. Tell you that later.

Anyway I guess it's time to go. Time to go shopping. I just hope my mom won't go kuripot on me.

FINALLY thank God I'm online!!! Whopeee! For the two weeks that I wasn't able to go online, it was pure torture and misery. Every single moment within the two weeks, I try to think of what am I going to say once I get online. But now that I had the good luck (free INTERNET!!!), my brain totally went black. Anyway, it's good to be back. I miss typing. :D
